Nana in Decatur and Birthday Party!!!

We had a fairly busy day this past saturday. We started with a little family QT at piedmont park, then went to go see Nana at the Decatur Market, followed by a birthday party for Frida (the daughter of a girl I work with), and topped it off with a concert at the park (I actually skipped out on the concert, but had a great time at the pregame at our house. Stephanie enjoyed the concert so much that she enjoyed it all day sunday). Besides being on the edge of being bloody hot, it was a really fun day.

Apparently Brayden won't be a vegetarian like his daddy...

good times...

so you really didn't bring my sunglasses, that's gonna be a problem...

Gerber Baby? How about Honeysuckle Soap Baby...

Brayden absolutely LOVED the ball pitt (I could have taken this one a few diff. ways)...

Momma says Hold On!!!!

And away we go (notice the girl next to B checking out his high flying antics)!!!

What a swinger, and he never even dropped his ball...

Gearing up for Pop Warner Football, I wouldn't line up across from him (i think there are a few pics of pj, jeff and I floating around out there just like this)...

B's best Sly Stallone one-armed-pushup impression (cue the theme music from Rocky)...

Bathtime Fun!!!

Here are some recent pics of B in his nightly bath...

My favorite of the bath time pics...

Brayden is super-intrigued by the ever-present HoneySuckleSoap and the faucet...

Its tough to get clean when you never actually touch the water...

A little marlon brando in the godfather???

Here, B is pretending his bath towel as a prop spinach leaf while he does his infamous Popeye impression...

Here's is the paparazzi picture we submitted to the all the tabloids...

Bye Bye Mommy

Last week stephanie went out to dinner with brooke and left the boys at home for a little father/son time. Apparently B is a bit of a momma's boy, i saw this coming and luckily had enough time to run and get the camera. It was sad but.......it led to a pretty cute pic...

Jack came over to see what all the fuss was about...

And then he realized I had the camera behind him...

And gave me a big 'ol smile...

And then he was happy again...

(hopefully to see me, and not because he remembered he had his thumb to keep him company)

Also, just noticed you can click on the pictures to blow them up, just FYI.

A Couple Things from Last Month

Here are a couple of things from the last month that I haven't had a chance to put out here yet...

Opa took Brayden to swim class...

B practicing his butterfly stroke...

Opa and B practicing his form for platform diving...

I "ran" my 3rd Marathon, weather was a little colder than I expected, hence the paper coat (opa and oma have all the pics from the finish)...

B and his class playing London Bridge...

Mommy and B take in the final swim class...

We have also started the "festival" season, hitting the Sweetwater Candler Park Festival with Brooke and Chris and the Inman Park Festival with Grandpa and Tami and Brooke and Chris (I can't seem to find any pictures from these festivals).

Tybee Vacation

Last week we loaded up the family (sans dogs) and headed down to Tybee for a little fun in the sun (or shade in our case). Thank you to the Wade's for letting us enjoy their house for a little R&R. It was brayden's first beach experience and he absolutely LOVED it. A lady at the grocery told us that everybody has to eat a bag of dirt in their life, we'll, I'd say bradyen is about half way there after this weekend. And who knew that Saturday when we went out for food, that actually meant breakfast AND lunch (with a bit of beach time thrown in between). We bought brayden a pair of sunglasses with an elastic strap to hold them on. The big guy didn't put up an sort of fight about wearing them, they are "too cute". The weekend consisted of lot of biking, beaching and general relaxation. The only problem with the entire weekend was there weren't enough days. I wonder is PwC has a Tybee Office?

Celebrating Week 42 in style...

Mommy and B hanging out on one of those big Tybee Trees...

Mommy and B taking a stroll on the Beach...

Together we're about as pale as a bucket...

Yeah, it's a big hat...

Brayden practicing for his debut in the Candler Park drum circle...

Relaxing in the shade at the playground...

Can you dig it..(you should have seen how hard he laughed at chopping the sand....until we tried to video it)...

Sleeping on the beach, can you beat this...

Big H and aunt nini...

Crawling in the sand...

Slow and steady wins the race...

Again, impossible to get 2 kids to look at the camera at the same time...

check out my wraparound shades...

It was a crazy low tide that went out a few hundred yards, here are H & M taking full advantages, we found several hermit crabs (no pics but great pets)...

Out...

Can you say Sassy...

Mmmmmmmmmmm Lemon...

Apparently his sour buds don't work yet...

And after a long day out, he's out...

30 minutes later, so are mommy and daddy (no pic of this one)...

And He's Off!!!!!!

We had quite a big weekend. Brayden decided he was getting a little bored just sitting around and that it was finally time to join the world of the movers. He started with some army style crawling at Nana's on saturday morning, and progressed to a full on crawl by sunday afternoon. Then we had a special surprise when he decided to wave to daddy!!!

Here is the first video of brayden.....

We had heard that the best way to coax a baby into mobility is to temp them with something they really, really want. I thought to myself, if I was a baby what would I want.......

And here a video of Brayden waving, its not as good as the first time he did it, which of course we didn't get on camera because we never thought that he'd actually do it. This one is up for interpretation, but the one not caught on camera was clearly a wave...

And contrary to the rumors swirling around, Steven Spielberg did not hire me on to be the videographer of his next film.
